Autodesk University
I am finally settling into my new job and country, hence I have found some time to update my handouts for Autodesk University presentation last year.
First update below is a *pdf capture of my slideshow presentation which includes the Vray section missed in my handout.
AU Powerpoint *pdf capture (216)Autodesk University is starting to fire up for another year, a new venue in the same crazy city that is Las Vegas. I have not submitted a paper this year and hence will not be speaking as I am busy enough implementing Revit at my new office.

I have returned to New Zealand now, and thank you for those that attended my lecture. I really enjoyed Autodesk University it was a intense and overwhelming week for a first time attendee and speaker.
The paper I presented was on the topic of production of Revit renders using the mental ray® render engine in Revit, and will then how to efficiently migrate/link your Revit model to 3ds Max to produce high quality renders.
Please click on the link below to download my presentation handout.
AU - Presentation Handout (551) - 7.37 MBI have learnt a lot form this experiance, I am in the process of relocating to Australia but as soon as I have time I will be uploading more content including the Vray section which was not included in my hand out.
There are many developments occuring in this industry over the at the moment and what is the most efficient technique? rendering in revit using mental ray®?, exporting (via *fbx or *dwg?) to 3dsMAX and using the built in mental ray® render engine or 3rd party plugins like Vray?
I have begun this discussion and are keen to continue the development of this workflow. I have alot of experiance in this field and look forward to sharing my knowledge with you.
Please feel free to add comments and questions to this page on any point that you would like me to clarify and I will endeavor to answer your questions as soon as possible.

hi dan. u seem to be having a blast with ur passion. i love design as well and happy to find you through AU classes. i’m structural engineering student who loves architecture and design software. ur au class was concise and useful.
I repaired the “AU – Presentation Handout.pdf” download this morning as it was corrupt, if you have any further problems please let me know.
Also I am currently revising Revit rendering and the entire Revit -> 3dsMax workflow on “The Bach” project (see tab at the top of this website).
Hi Ken,
I will be updating the course material as soon as possible including the Vray and Photoshop techniques that where not included in my handout. I was also be re-recording my lecture how I intended it to be at a slower pace, so that it will be easier to follow.
Thank you for attending my paper and for the kind comments.
Kind regards, Dan.
Dan,
Thanks for the class, it was fast but the content was great. I am looking forward to creating some great renderings for Revit to Max. There was one other thing that you showed in your class that was not part of the Handout and that was the discussion at the end of class regarding the final use of photoshop. I am hoping that when you update your handout to included the VRAY that you will also include that content as well
thanks,
ken marcus
