Out of Memory issues?
Jamie Cardoso’s post on memory issues with 3ds Max and mental ray, good simple techniques but as Jamie also suggests it is well worth the cost of going to 64bit o/s, Max and more RAM.
I am currently running XP 64bit, Max 2010 64bit with 16gig RAM on a dual quad HP xw6400.
